Pip goes to play at his friend Posy’s house. They have such a great time playing that Pip forgets he needs to go to the toilet, and soon there is a little puddle on the floor. Poor Pip is very embarrassed, but Posy reassures him that “everyone has accidents sometimes” while mopping up the puddle. She lends him a change of clothes, and they go back to playing.
This book is part of the Pip and Posy series by Axel Scheffler. Pip and Posy find themselves in everyday situations that most toddlers & preschoolers find themselves in. In the day of the life of a toddler, accidents are just a fact of life. This story will help provide reassurance to children who might have accidents in the potty training process. Regarding language targets, this picture book can be used for sequencing events and targeting the use of temporal markers (first, next, then, after that, suddenly). It’s also ideal for working on the /p/ sound.
